Mental Health
Mental Health training encompasses various programs and initiatives aimed at increasing awareness, understanding and skills related to mental health.
Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health
This is a knowledge-only qualification that covers knowledge and understanding in relation to
mental health, mental illnesses, signs and symptoms and also how to support those with mental ill
health. It includes units on different illnesses as well as units on professional conduct, therapeutic
communication, and how to support mental ill health in children and young people or adults with
learning disabilities.
Your tutor will inform you of which Units you need to complete.
Unit 1 - Introduction to mental health, mental ill health and wellbeing.
This unit introduces learners to the concepts of mental health, mental ill health and wellbeing, as well as other related terminology and subjects, such as stigma and other associated impacts of mental
illness. It aims to provide your with an understanding that all individuals have mental health and that an individual's experience of mental health health can fluctuate on a spectrum. It also introduces basic treatment models, including self help.

This unit introduces you to stress and anxiety. It aims to provide you with the knowledge of how to identify stress or anxiety in an individual, the risk factors and the associated impact that these
illnesses have on an individual and those around them. It also covers treatment options for stress and anxiety.​

Unit 3 - Introduction to Post - Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
